Session Description: This engaging session allows attendees to ask expert panelists difficult questions that arise in the clinical practice and administrative management of Medical Center Occupational Health. The goal of the session is to identify, review, and learn from those issues that are most pertinent to MCOH practitioners and to gain insights from each other’s experiences. Discussion is open to the full breadth of MCOH topics, including but not limited to work injury care, immunizations, infectious exposures (e.g., TB, pertussis, laboratory pathogens), medical surveillance and fitness for duty exams, bloodborne pathogen exposures, and clinician wellbeing.

Educational Gaps: This session will focus on common situations and challenges experienced by MCOH practitioners. The field of medical center occupational health is diverse, complex, and ever-changing, so this session will allow colleagues to collaborate and share resources that have helped them navigate the questions they face in their practices.

Questions about time-honored basics as well exciting new topics engage the audience and panelists, who appreciate the opportunity to collaboratively address timely MCOH issues with colleagues.

The AOHC 2026 theme is Healthy workers. Healthy world: This session will support the theme of “Healthy workers. Healthy world.” In the session, attendees will be encouraged to address challenging situations encountered among healthcare workers and other employees of hospitals and ambulatory medical settings . Attendees will learn information and skills to "care for the caregivers who care for the world."
