Dr. Paul Musa is an Associate Professor at the Institut Supérieur des Techniques Médicales (ISTM) of
ISTM/LUBUMBASHI
Dr. Musa Obadia Paul is a physician and researcher specializing in clinical toxicology and sexual medicine. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Lubumbashi (DRC) in 2013 and a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from KU Leuven (Belgium) in 2023, where his research focused on the impact of occupational metal exposure on male sexual function. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Institut Supérieur des Techniques Médicales (ISTM) of Lubumbashi and serves as Director of the Centre for Toxicology and Global Health Research, which also houses the newly established Poison Control Center of Lubumbashi.
Dr. Musa is actively engaged in advancing toxicology services in the DRC, including the development of poison control helplines, capacity building for health professionals, and environmental and occupational health surveillance in mining communities. He has authored and co-authored several scientific publications, receiving international recognition, including the ISSM Journal Best Paper GOLD Prize. He is also the President of the Congolese Society for Sexual Medicine, where he promotes research and clinical practice in male sexual health.
Through academic, clinical, and policy initiatives, Dr. Musa continues to build national and international collaborations aimed at improving public health and addressing toxicological challenges in sub-Saharan Africa
