Dr. Melissa Snider-Adler is a board-certified Addiction Medicine physician and Medical Review Officer (MRO) with extensive expertise in workplace substance use, impairment assessment, and drug testing interpretation. She serves as Chief Medical Review Officer at DriverCheck Inc. and has advised employers, regulators, and safety leaders across Canada and the United States on managing substance-related risk in safety-sensitive environments.
Dr. Snider-Adler maintains an active clinical practice treating individuals with substance use disorder and conducting Independent Medical Evaluations of workers with known or suspected substance use disorders. Her work includes comprehensive fitness-for-duty assessments, including evaluations related to medical cannabis, prescribed medications, and opioid agonist treatment.
She is a co-author of the 2025 OEMAC Cannabis Position Statement and a subject matter expert for the Canadian Model for Providing a Safe Workplace. Dr. Snider-Adler is a Board Member of the Medical Review Officer Certification Council (MROCC) and an invited committee member of the National Safety Council’s Alcohol, Drugs and Impairment Division (NSC-ADID), reflecting her leadership in advancing evidence-based workplace practices.
Dr. Snider-Adler is the founder and lead content expert behind the Alcohol and Substance Awareness Program (ASAP), an education platform designed to support safety-sensitive workplaces in managing substance use and substance use disorder through evidence-based educational videos, podcasts, and related content.
She has provided expert testimony in hundreds of legal and arbitration proceedings related to workplace impairment, substance use, and fitness for duty, and is a sought-after international speaker and educator on substance use disorders, cannabis, drug testing, and the intersection of health, safety, and workplace policy.
