Visiting Professor Work, Health and Organsations
University of Surrey
Richard is visiting professor of Work Health and Organisations at the University of Surrey, and of the Business School in Nottingham UK. He is an independent consultant on work, health and organisations clients including the World Economic Forum and RAND Europe.
For over 15 years Richard led global energy company bp’s health agenda Chief Medical Officer and Vice President Health. This included wellbeing, occupational health, industrial hygiene, and public health in 65 countries. He has held prior HSE and risk management leadership roles with AstraZeneca.
He co-chairs the International Occupational Medicine Society Collaborative (IOMSC), a WHO collaborating Centre of 47 National Societies. He is a member of the UK Government’s Industrial Injuries Advisory Council.
He is past president of UK Faculty and Societies of Occupational Medicine, a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (London, Edinburgh, Ireland), and the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.
