Session Description: The International Occupational Medicine Society Collaborative (IOMSC) is comprised of 52 occupational medicine faculties and societies from 46 countries and has a mission to improve workers’ health globally. This session will review:
• Artisanal and small-scale mining activities in Zimbabwe, Uganda, Colombia, and Brazil as part of a research project coordinated by the IOMSC and supported by the Society of Occupational Medicine (UK) with funding from the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (UK),
• Priorities for global occupational health garnered from a summit of chief health officers, workplace health leaders from academia, and leaders from international worker health organizations, including the WHO and the ILO.
• The development of educational tools for international knowledge sharing and collaboration in OEM.

Educational Gaps: This session will explore how to strengthen the impact and effectiveness of addressing global occupational health issues through collaborative work with international occupational medicine societies. It will provide a framework for a more unified, international approach to improving worker health.

The AOHC 2026 theme is Healthy workers. Healthy world: It provides a framework for a more unified, international approach to improving worker health especially highlighting one worker population - artisanal miners. It also will discuss global priorities among large employers and other workplace health leaders which will impact the health of workers.
