Health Physicist
ORISE REAC/TS
My name is James Dillon Vogt, BS, NRRPT and I am a Health Physicist with REAC/TS (Radiation Emergency Assistance Center/Training Site). REAC/TS is a DOE & NNSA asset to help with the medical management of radiation emergencies. As a health physicist on the team I will consult with the doctors, physicians, and other members responding to radiation emergencies or radiation patients and help them develop the best treatment plan with the given radiological information. REAC/TS is a deployable asset and also maintains a 24/7/365 emergency line.
I acquired my bachelors in physics from Georgia College. I quickly followed that up by joining the Savannah River Site's External dosimetry program. Over 5 years (2018-2023) at SRS my involvement grew to include internal dosimetry, criticality neutron dosimetry, and a monitoring of the bioassay program.
In mid-2023 I was hired by REAC/TS to be one of their Health Physicists. Since then I have taught a number of cources on radiation basics and radiation emergency medicine, both domestically and overseas to NATO allies.
