Dr. Steven Markowitz MD, DrPH is an occupational medicine physician and epidemiologist and serves as Professor and Director of the Barry Commoner Center at the City University of New York. He has conducted lung cancer screening of United States nuclear weapons workers for over 25 years. He helped establish the Department of Energy Former Worker Program in the 1990's.
