David Kirshenbaum, MBA, HealthNEXT, Chief Operating Officer and CIO.
Davd started his career as an IT prgrammer for Equitable LIfe Insurance Company in New York eventually implementing the first fully automated Claim Payment systems. For the first 15 years of his career he worked for 4 large Healthplans including Equitable, Equicor, Cigna and Aetna where ihe worked in Technology, Strategy, Operations, Customer Support, Web Development, ECommerce as an executive of those campanies. While at Aetna he was the CEO of two independent subsidiaries; Intellihelth, a major competitor of WebMD, and where he contracted with Harvard Medical School to create our Clinical content and US Quality Algorthims (USQA), a leading analytics company serving employers, providers and the healthplan.
David's then joined Medscape Medicalogic, a content company, now owned by WebMD and an early EMR company, now owned by GE, as head of business development. During that time, he created one of the first true EMR data warehouse and analytics company to assist both our hospital cllients as well as pharma companies, clinical trials and healthcare analytics. After the company was sold, David created his own healthcare consulting company, West End Associates Consulting, whose clients spanned Heathplans, HIT companies, Private Equity, Venture Caplial, Provider groups and many other health related companies. He was the founder and CEO for 20 years. For three years during the West End time, he was also the Vice President of Data and Analytics at Anthem.
David started working with HealthNEXT through the West End consulting company at the beginnig of their formation and eventually signed on as the Chief Operating Officer and CiO where he is today.
David received his graduate degree from New York University, Leonard N. Stern School of Business in New York, NY and his undergraduate degree from Clark University in Worcester, MA.
