John D. Piacentino, MD, MPH is the Deputy Director for Program for the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. His current focus is on advancing the scientific and research programs of the Institute and seeking opportunities to solve practical problems facing workers and employers. Dr. Piacentino received his Doctor of Medicine from Temple University, followed by the completion of an Internal Medicine residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Piacentino also completed a Master of Public Health and a residency in Occupational and Environmental Medicine at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He is board certified in internal medicine and occupational medicine.
