Dr. Gillis recently retired as the Chief Medical Officer at Union Pacific Railroad in May 2025 to focus on her ACOEM Presidency and enjoy her family. She is currently the Medical Director and owner of Gillis Consulting, LLC. Her previous positions include serving as a US Naval Flight Surgeon, a private practice physician and business owner, the US Federal Maritime surgeon, and a Medical Director at BNSF Railway. Dr. Gillis has also held several roles in ACOEM, including Chair of the Council on Membership Engagement, Chair of the Transportation Section, and member of the ACOEM Board of Directors, Finance Committee, and Bylaws Committee. She is most proud of being wife to Peter and mother to her two daughters, Remington and Hunter.
