Dr Waqas Raja, M.B.B.S., MSc, Occupational Health (with Honours), Cardiff University.
With a distinguished career spanning more than 25 years, Dr Waqas has made significant contributions to the corporate energy sector on an international scale. His expertise and leadership have shaped health and wellbeing strategies across some of the world’s most challenging and dynamic environments.

Beginning his journey in occupational health in the early 2000, he has established himself as a proactive advocate for employee wellbeing, risk management, and regulatory compliance. Throughout his career integrated energy giants including bp, BHP, OMV and Schlumberger, he has led various occupational health programmes for major projects, ensuring implementation of robust health surveillance systems and adapting global standards to fit local requirements. His tenure especially in Middle East and Africa region, involved the implementation of health risk management processes in remote and often resource-limited settings, focusing on both preventative and emergency medical response strategies. His approach combined a deep respect for cultural diversity with a commitment to continuous improvement, resulting in enhanced workforce resilience and productivity.

Dr Waqas is an influential communicator and motivational leader who effortlessly wins collaboration from diverse stakeholders at all levels and is adept at establishing a high-performance culture through a collaborative approach to achieve exceptional results supported by informed decision-making.
His leadership style is defined by a collaborative ethos and a keen ability to bridge cultural and organisational divides.
