Dr. Mahoney is an experienced epidemiologist with a Master of Science and Ph.D. in Epidemiology from UCLA, Her focus is on applied epidemiology, methods, and biostatistics. Early in her career, she worked in occupational and environmental epidemiology, where she created and managed a surveillance system to monitor and prevent health issues in a large workforce. Her experience includes roles at various organizations, including Lockheed Advanced Development Co. and the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services. Dr. Mahoney served in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) program. As an EIS officer, she was stationed at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, where she investigated disease outbreaks, identified their causes, and implemented control measures.
