Dr. Rupali Das is Senior Vice President and California Medical Director at Zenith Insurance Company, where she collaborates with the leadership team and all departments to provide guidance for timely, appropriate, and compassionate delivery of medical care to workers while also balancing business process needs. She previously served as the Executive Medical Director of the California Division of Workers' Compensation and continues to collaborate with various organizations to improve medical care and promote return to work. She is dedicated to implementing quality in all aspects of medical treatment and medical-legal reporting and is passionate about preventing illness and injury through health, wellness, and safety.
Dr. Das is board certified in Internal Medicine and Preventive Medicine/Occupational Medicine, is a Fellow of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, and Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCSF’s Division of Occupational, Environmental, and Climate Medicine. She received an MD degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago, and a Master's degree in Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Das started her clinical occupational medicine practice treating injured workers and consulting with employers at the Palo Alto Medical Clinic in California’s Silicon Valley. She has held leadership positions at California EPA and the California Department of Public Health, where she led innovative statewide occupational and environmental health programs to track, investigate, and prevent occupational and environmental illnesses. Dr. Das has speaks widely, has published work in a variety of different topics, and is a member of the JOEM editorial board.
