Douglas W. Martin, MD FACOEM FAAFP FIAIME

Medical Director
CNOS Occupational Medicine

Doug Martin, MD, is from Nebraska and bleeds red. He was part of a world record being of one of 92,003 people who attended a University of Nebraska Volleyball game in the football stadium which is the largest crowd ever to attend a women's sporting event in the world.

After serving as Medical Director for UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Occupational Medicine for 25 years, he now is the CNOS Occupational Medicine Medical Director practicing in Dakota Dunes, SD. Much of his practice is related to musculoskeletal medicine.

He has given over 900 CME presentations on various Occupational Medicine topics, with emphasis on upper extremity repetitive motion injuries, disability medicine and medical review officer functions.

Sioux City is big enough to need an occ doc to do everything but is not big enough to need more than one. This is the reason he wears many hats.

He is a Past President of ACOEM, AADEP, IPMA, and IAFP. He is still wanting to know what he wants to do when he grows up.

He lives in Dakota Dunes, South Dakota with his wife Janet, and he has four adult children and three grandchildren. He is a co-founder of the Tri State Youth Association (www.tristateyouthsd.org) and is both an Eagle Scout and Silver Beaver recipient, continuing to serve the Boy Scouts of America as Chartered Organization Representative. He is the Chief Medical Officer of Quarantine (Public Health) for the Boy Scout National Jamboree and World Scout Jamboree. His assists his wife with two Haitian relief organizations that she co-founded Time4Haiti and Diakonia (www.diakoniahaiti.org). In his spare time, he officiates sub varsity football in South Dakota and serves as the public address announcer for Dakota Valley High School Football, and there, is known as “The Voice of the Panthers”.
